Although thermo pot is the same kettle, not all well-known brands of small household appliances produce them. However, familiar names come across in this narrow niche.

The principle of operation and the device thermopota
Thermopot is really an electric kettle, only very large and with its own design features. Its main difference from conventional water heaters is the double walls of the heat-insulated casing, which keep the heat inside for hours.
So that the water does not cool even longer, such devices additionally have the function of maintaining the temperature at a given level (usually +80 .. + 90 ° C), periodically turning on for heating. For this, the second heating element is used - not as powerful and “gluttonous” as the main one.
Due to the large size and large weight, it is difficult to manually pour boiling water from the thermal cotton. Therefore, a pump is installed here that pumps out heated water from the flask and feeds it through a special nozzle. It can be mechanical or electronic.
Otherwise, we face the most common water heater with a built-in heating element, which, when connected to the network, brings the entire volume of liquid to a boil (or set temperature). The device turns off automatically when the built-in thermal sensor is triggered.

It all depends on how much boiling water you spend per day. For a working group, a large family, or if you have a child recently born, and you need hot water at hand all the time, it is better to take a larger thermotpe (from 4 to 7 liters). If you just drink tea or coffee often, a model with a capacity of 1.8-3 liters is enough for home use.
Power and type of heater
The best is the consumption of 700-800 kW thermopot - this is enough to boil a few liters of water for 15-25 minutes and not overload the wiring. However, if the device is very large, or you don’t like to wait long, you will need a more powerful model - from a kilowatt and above.
As for the construction, the best option would be a closed or disc heater. Open-type heating elements are quickly overgrown with scale, are difficult to clean and fail before others.
Manufacturing material
The cost and durability of a thermosol depend on the chosen material of the body:
1. Plastic is suitable for those who are looking for a cheaper device. Only this should be a high-quality food-grade polymer without any foreign odors.
2. The metal is the most reliable, however, such a thermal steam will be well worth it.
3. Glass - some manufacturers offer models with transparent tanks. They look very stylish, but you should understand that the thermal insulation characteristics of a glass bulb will not be the best if it does not have double walls. And the fragility of such technology does not allow to call it durable.
Water supply method
At this point, few people pay attention. And in vain. After all, it is not enough that the thermobot quickly heats up the water - it must still be somehow extracted from it.It’s good when there are no electricity interruptions in the house - the automatic pump will give you the right amount of boiling water at any time. But if such problems are not rare, it is better to buy a model with a manual or combined water supply device.
Additional functions
Thermopots, due to their simplicity and narrow specialization, have few additional options. But some of them can be really useful:
1. Adjusting the heating will produce water from +45 to +90 ° C at the outlet (in some models there is also a room temperature mode). Will it be stepped or smooth - does not play a special role.
2. Delaying the start is a useful option, especially if the thermotube is large, and the heating element in it is rather weak. You can set the on time and get hot water on time.
3. Self-cleaning - found only in expensive devices. The function of decalcification will greatly simplify the care of the "kettle" and will allow you to easily get rid of scale in the flask. Although the built-in filter is also not superfluous.
Also, some manufacturers offer metered water with the ability to adjust the volume of each portion. But in practice, this function is rarely used, so its presence or absence does not matter.

1. For a family of 3-4 people enough models for 3-3.5 liters with a capacity of up to 800 watts. If there is a newborn baby in the house, the volume may be more, but here you should pay attention to the number of temperature regimes. Ideally, when the thermal kettle can produce warm water around +40 .. + 50 ° C. The best case materials are a combination of steel and plastic.
2. In the office, you can take a completely plastic model. The capacity of the flask is determined by the number of tea and coffee drinkers in the team. The optimal power of 800-1000 watts.
3. For personal use (in the office or workshop), a compact thermo sweat of up to 2 liters with a power of 700–800 W will be suitable. Devices with metal cases fall in the same price category. Only the “ceiling” of them is already higher - at the level of 20-22 thousand, because there are really large specimens with a capacity of up to 13 liters.
