3. The base is hung on the hooks of the headboard and footboard (which are no longer connected to each other) or bolted to them. Such a solution is considered relatively reliable, but delivers a lot of problems during assembly / disassembly. 1. Solid - is a fitted butt wooden boards, sheets of plywood or chipboard. Such a bottom is devoid of flexibility, so it is perfect for both orthopedic and ordinary thin mattresses. Sleeping on a solid basis ensures an even position of the spine, although for obese and elderly people it will be uncomfortable to sleep on such beds. Its only drawback is a lot of weight, especially if the base is made of solid boards.
2. Rack bottom today is more popular because it has less weight, sufficient elasticity and good orthopedic properties. Structurally, it is a frame of wood or metal, to which with the help of strong tape fasten slightly curved wooden lintels (lamellae).
